Proyecto INTECAT

ICIQ was selected on 2006 as one of the institutions to receive funding from the Programme CONSOLIDER-INGENIO 2010. This Programme consisted of a set of R+D promotion and consolidation actions, which are directed to Spanish research teams with a high international renown and quality level. Moreover, this Programme was intended to promote that scientists of different R+D centres could worked in close collaboration.

The title of the approved project was Design of catalysts for a sustainable chemistry: An integrated approach (INTECAT). This project aimed to develop an integrated approach to catalysis in order to contribute to the discovery of processes for a better use of raw materials, for a more efficient energy consumption and for reducing the generation of byproducts. The Proyecto INTECAT was composed of 13 research groups, 10 of them ICIQ researchers, and the rest consists of renowned scientists of the Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Universidad de Valladolid and Universidad de Zaragoza. The Coordinator Researcher of the project was Prof. Miquel A. Pericàs, Director of ICIQ.

The Programme CONSOLIDER-INGENIO 2010 was aimed to become a step forward in different areas of Science, and tries to increase and to consolidate the research activities which, because of their dimension, are not sufficiently covered by the usual calls of the current National Plan of R+D+i.
